Here you will find pictures and stories about my dog lion. He was an AKC paper-registered, American Eskimo
dog. Eskie for short. His official name was White Lion.
Lion died August 31, 2003 after having a series of strokes, seizures.
I do miss him a lot. As he passed, i asked the spirit of a young cousin, Lori, to meet lion and help him over the Rainbow
Bridge, to keep him safe and love him like i have..
A couple nights later i had the dream vision of lion going across the bridge, and then playing on the other side with
Lori.. So i know now he is in good hands, even though i miss him a lot.
I also hope to add stories how lion has touched other people's lives.
I believe that my dog Lion saved my life August 2, 2003.
On August 2, 2003, about 6:35 p.m. i had walked into the kitchen
to check on dinner. I felt an immediate sharp pain in the chest area, felt disoriented, pressure in my
head that i had to go lay down.
I made sure the stove, computer and other stuff was turned off.
As i laid on the bed, reeling from this pain, and drifted in and out of
conciousness, lion kept coming to the bed, he had an injured left hind
leg. Every couple of hours, he would use his nose, paw, to wake me,
get near my face to see if i was breathing. I would come out of the pit of darkness, and reach out to lion, assuring
him, everything was going to be ok. When i woke up Sunday morning, it was to find that i also had a softspot, swelling
on the back-left side of my head, and the feeling of electricity going thru that area, besides the headaches. I had trouble
keeping my balance, so as i took lion outside to go potty, he hurried up, and then immediately came back home, leading me
home.
I would then take some tylenol, lay down again. I did that off and on all day. Every hour, lion came to my side,
stayed near me.
Monday morning i felt slightly better that i drove myself to the Urgent Care Center that was only a few blocks
away.
The doctor there said i had suffered a muscle spasm in my head.
Until his death on August 31, lion stayed close to me, checking up on me.
I do believe that if it wasn't for him, i may well have died that night on August 2, 2003.
Lion your my hero, are missed and loved very much.
I wish you were here everyday. For i would hurry home from job search, hurry home from work, to you. to
take care of you, play with you, be with you.
Now your my angel, protector in heaven.
Lion loved playing in the snow. He would
pounce on it, roll in it. True to the Breed of American Eskimo, he loved the cold weather.. to a point..
At that point, playing in the
snow, he didn't mind being wet, (lion hated getting baths though). However, the moment he got
inside, he wanted to be dried off. So lion had his own towel, and if he wasn't dried to HIS specifications, he jumped up on
the bed, or couch or on the rug, if he couldn't get to the others, and rolled, wiggled all over the bed, under the
covers until the bed and blankets were wet, and wet dog fur everywhere. And when i would yell at him to stop,
to get down, he would brazenly WINK at me, and then jump down, then run a few feet then stop to turn around and BARK
at me. As if i was the one who did something wrong.. hahahahaha

Just like any kid, lion loved rolling in the grass, mud, and didn't care. Except when it came time for a bath. Then his
expressions while in the tub says it all.
Hahaha.. Lion I love and Miss you and thank you for sending me Emmie.

When i first saw lion, he was in a cage in a pet store in the mall of Bellingham, Washington, about 5-6 months
old. He was very small and very scared.
I was with my now ex-husband's neice Mernah when we had lion taken out of the cage and brought to us in that
little room. he would sit like this and the name that came to mind for him was White Lion for sitting like this he reminded
both of us like the regal Sphinx of Egypt. I filled out the loan papers at the pet store, and hoped that lion would be mine.
I went home that night, and had a dream and for the next 4 days i had the same dream, that lion would be mine. But as pet
owners will tell you, you don't own your pets, they claim, own you. So once the lady called and said the loan went through,
i went and got lion.
He was curled up into a ball on the front seat of my car as i drove him to his new home. It didn't take long
for him to lose his fear, timidness.
For he became my friend, my protector, companion, soulmate.

Soon after moving to Tulsa, OK, Lion and i went to stay with my mother and siblings.
When my sister Marilyn's young son Jason was about 2-3 years old, he tried to
escape outside. Well down the backdoor steps, there was broken glass all over the place that hadn't been cleaned up.
Well Lion saw Jason about to go down those stairs, and grabbed Jason by the seat of his pants.
Lion pulled Jason from the door, to stop him from going outside and getting hurt. Of
course young Jason had a tempertantrum from being stopped from something he wanted to do. My sister Marilyn went running
then yelled at Lion for what she thought of lion pulling on Jason. My sister Marilyn, told me later, that it took her
a while to realize, that Lion didn't hurt Jason but saved him from having his bare feet cut up into shreds, and possibly more
injuries.
I don't know if Marilyn, after realizing Lion saved Jason, that she thanked Lion for what
he did. I do know when i came home from work that night and learned of Lion's Heroics, that i gave him a big hug and whispered
thank you, job well done.
I believe that if your pets do a good deed, job, they should be thanked, given praise.
Here is a picture of Lion coming to the rescue.

Lion has lived with me, traveled with me a lot over the 7 1/2 years that we were together.
From Bellingham WA after a nasty divorce, we moved to Federal Way, WA. After being unable to get a job in Federal Way,
WA, we moved to Las Vegas, NV to get a job, be closer to some relatives, as there weren't any family in the state of Washington.
Soon after arriving in Las Vegas, NV realized it wouldn't work, Lion and I then moved to Salt Lake City, UT. We stayed
in Salt Lake City for about 9 months, when the owner of the home we were renting, decided to sell it and so gave us 5 days
to get out. So packing up Lion once more, Lion, my brother Ernie and his dog a chow-shepherd mix, drove over to Tulsa, OK
where for a very short time we stayed with Mom, siblings. Then 7 months later, we went and got our own place.
Lion and i lived in Tulsa OK for over 3 years 7 months, where we headed to Eastern Oregon, La Grande, OR to be exact.
That was an adventure for lion and i too. Then this past June 2003, last week of June, we moved from La Grande, OR to Salem
OR as there weren't any jobs in La Grande, and i thought it would be better for us to move to a larger town.
Then sadly on August 31, 2003 i lost my beloved dog, my friend, companion, soulmate, my Lion.
Several days after Lion died, i started having dreams about him, he seemed to be showing me American Eskimo puppies.
I would wake up crying. Each day as i struggled to get through work, then hurry up home to take care of him, i would get about
a block from home before realizing, remembering that he won't be there to greet me, to bark/yell at me for making him wait.
About a couple weeks later, i had more dreams of Lion with another dog. Then in October 2003, i understood why as i saw
an ad in the newspaper, someone was giving up their Eskie. I called, and met with the owners and they agreed to let me have
Emmie. For i wanted her as a pet, companion, for myself. I spoil her a lot, take her for car rides, and walks. Just like i
use to do with Lion. I have even felt that Lion has visited and started teaching her his tricks, some of the things he use
to do to cheer me up. Like wink at me, smile at me and as the pictures show on the Lion & Emmie photo album page, laugh
as well.
Enjoy your pets, make a photo album of pictures and stories to share with your loved ones. Blessings.

The next few pictures are of Emmie today. Please check out the photo album of Emmie and Lion, i will soon

are apt to do from time to time.
